Scribe at the Bedside
palmER's Ambient Scribe captures your patient encounter and drafts your HPI and Physical Exam automatically. No typing, no templates.
Scribe on your phone
The palmER mobile app is the easiest way to scribe at the bedside. It listens reliably in the background, even when your screen locks. Set it up in Installation and Accounts, then follow the steps below.
- 01Open the app and pick a patient
Sign in to the palmER mobile app. Tap New Patient to add a room number and chief complaint, or select an existing patient.
- 02Start Ambient Scribe
Tap Start Ambient Scribe and see your patient. palmER listens in the background while you focus on the patient.
- 03Stop and add anything extra
Tap stop when you finish. On the Encounter Captured screen, you can add anything not said aloud, such as exam findings, details, or corrections if needed, then tap Complete.
- 04Review auto-generated documentation
Your HPI and Physical Exam notes draft automatically. Sign in to the web platform at platform.palm-er.com to review and refine them in Chart View, then generate your MDM when your workup is complete.
You can also scribe at a desktop computer on the web platform. For the full walkthrough of both, see the Ambient Scribing guide.

Tips for Success
The AI isn't perfect: Always review and edit generated content. The AI provides a strong draft, but you're responsible for accuracy.
More input = better output: The more information you provide, the better the AI's generated content. Don't be stingy with context.
Customize to your style: Use Documentation Preferences to adjust outputs to match your documentation style.
Start simple: Don't try to learn all features at once. Master one tool per week.
Use keyboard shortcuts: Copy (Ctrl/Cmd+C) and paste (Ctrl/Cmd+V) become second nature - this speeds up your workflow significantly.
